Journey Home is one of the most professional transitional living programs from Arkansas, we think that developing well-rounded skills is the best solution to achieve a long-lasting basis upon building success in our life. With more than a decade of experience in the field, our team established these five core principles as the most important areas to develop for becoming a successful and capable adult.
These principles are:
We differ from other transitional living programs in the fact that our program from Arkansas is intended to involve parents and the resident in planning goals and treatment, this way we build up more sense of agency in our girls.
After an intense therapeutic wilderness setting in Arkansas, close-knit and away from mainstream society, going back to normal can be difficult, and sometimes a transitional space is required to consolidate new skills and our new self. Journey Home fits this type of demand and is one of the leading transitional living programs from Arkansas.
Journey Home is a transitional living program intended for young women between the ages of 16 and 21, who have already had a successful experience in a therapeutic wilderness setting, and now want to improve their emotional, practical and social skills in order to be and feel more independent and successful.
Although not located in Arkansas, Journey Home helps young women from all over the country, and can continue the process started at a wilderness therapy center.
Journey Homes therapeutic approach focuses on choosing, with the help of parents and a specialized professional team, goals to accomplish in five core principles:
They are intended to be foundations for a better and more successful future.
What makes Journey Home one of the best transitional living programs is that we understand that there is a conflict between these young womens needs, like time to fully assimilate the new skills and lessons, and the pressing demands of society that is always pushing to go on and never stop. Thats why our main mission is to provide a transitional space that allows for peace and time to grow as well as giving residents the opportunity to develop socially useful skills.
