Journey Home Creates Lasting Success For Young Wyoming Women

At Journey Home, we believe that a well-rounded therapeutic approach leads to a solid foundation for positive growth and development. Our approach to therapy is based on decades of research conducted by members of our  therapeutic team.

We are located in Utah, but we help young women from across the nation, including Wyoming.

Our approach is founded upon five core principles:

  • Healthy Living: Mind, body and relations are the objectives of this core, we teach how to keep all of them, positive, healthy and how to make them be satisfactory. JHRTC1
  • Education: We teach our girls to develop skills, interests and hobbies by themselves, to improve their study skills and to find work or build a career
  • Life Skills: Everything that is useful in daily life and that we should know how to manage, like finance, chores, cleaning, shopping, cooking, organizational, time management, job searching skills.
  • Personal Responsibility: The most important key to success is taking charge of your own life, and for that a healthy sense of responsibility and being proactive are solid bases upon building a happy woman tomorrow
  • Social Integration: Relationships and our peer community are well known as positive factors for our life, at Journey Home we teach our girls how to have positive and satisfactory relationships with another person, as well as the community itself.

Our girls have also the possibility to go on with high school or college studies, or even get a job, they’re encouraged to be as independent as they can be.

Unlike other independent living programs which help young women from Wyoming, we do many fun activities in addition to a traditional residential model. Throughout their stay at Journey Home, young women can have fun with €œFun Food Friday€, snow sports in the winter, visiting museums, going to movies, exploring the local outdoors by hiking and biking, and many other local events and activities.

Continuing Success at an Independent Living Program For Wyoming Young Women

It’s very difficult for parents to see their daughter struggling with emotional, mental or social issues. An independent living program like Journey Home provides a safe place where young women from Wyoming can learn how to cope, and even better how to be successful in our modern society. JHRTC3

Many independent living programs focus on building self-esteem. But at Journey Home, we help encourage young women to become successful future adults, capable of coping with society,  and happy with their own life. To this end, we’ve developed a program based on five core principles, involving what our professional team considers to be the most important and critical areas that a successful adult needs to master.

Located in Layton, just outside Salt Lake City, Utah, Journey Home welcomes young women all over the country, including Wyoming. According to scientific literature, living in a goal oriented environment enhances residents’ probability of success.

We differentiate ourselves form other independent living programs because of the involvement of both parents and residents in establishing goals and intermediate steps along each girl’s personal journey.

Our professional team welcomes every girl between 16 and 21 from Wyoming, eager to transform these girls into happy, satisfied and successful members of society by improving either their inner and outer skills.
