Searching for the best therapeutic options can be a real struggle, especially if you don’t know how to recognize what is required by a service to be suitable for you. Journey Home understands all of this and includes parents every step of the throughout our independent living program for young women from California between 16 and 21. Although we are located in Utah, we help young women from California and all over the country.
Journey Home is focused on giving a time and space for adjustment between an intensive therapy setting and coming back to normal society, for young women. Our service aims to give these young women all the necessary skills to become a useful and successful member of society, plus a healthy way of life that can endure throughout years leading to happiness and fulfillment.
Our independent living program focus on empowering young women by growing their self-esteem, helping them learn important and useful life skills that we all need to practice daily, as well as mental and emotional healing and having good and satisfying relationships. Although our program is located in Utah, we gladly help young women and families all over the United States.
At Journey Home, one of the most effective independent living programs, we believe that family involvement is a crucial part of personal growth and healing. Long lasting growth and success must occur with the support of the entire family unit. That’s why we involve parents throughout every step of the program, and in the decision making process.
Our independent living program provides a safe space of recovery and skill enhancement for young women, so they can experiment with their new skills and make their first steps into independence in a protected and learning environment.
At Journey Home, we believe that a well-rounded therapeutic approach leads to a solid foundation for positive growth and development. Our approach to therapy is based on decades of research conducted by members of our therapeutic team.
We are located in Utah, but we help young women from across the nation, including California.
Our approach is founded upon five core principles:
Our girls have also the possibility to go on with high school or college studies, or even get a job, they’re encouraged to be as independent as they can be.
Unlike other independent living programs which help young women from California, we do many fun activities in addition to a traditional residential model. Throughout their stay at Journey Home, young women can have fun with Fun Food Friday, snow sports in the winter, visiting museums, going to movies, exploring the local outdoors by hiking and biking, and many other local events and activities.
