Choosing the best independent living program for your Kansas daughter can be a very difficult challenge. Having mental and emotional issues can be proving for the subject and the family, so it’s important to establish if an independent living program is the most adequate treatment option for your daughter.
Journey Home, one of the leading independent living programs, it’s conceived to specifically suit young women who want to measure themselves with society and become independent healthy adults. Everything from our therapeutic approach to our recreational program is designed to help these young women to succeed.
Journey Home conceived five core principles that these girls need to develop and enhance in order to acquire the confidence to be independent adults. We offer a quiet and private residence where several activities and courses are taken by our girls every day.
Unlike many other services in this field, we focus on multiple areas and we determine which goal to choose for a specific area to meet the residents’ specific needs and desires, in fact every resident is not only a passive subject, but a proactive builder of her own therapeutic path. Even though we are located near Salt Lake City, Utah, we gladly help girls from all over the United States including Kansas.
All Journey Home independent living programs are based upon these five core principles:
If you’re searching for an independent living program for your daughter from Kansas, you may have a very frustrating time ahead of you. It’s hard to send away your daughter, but there is scientific evidence that an extended period away from home can improve self-esteem and coping skills. Journey Home is located just outside Salt Lake City in Utah, but accepts young women all over the country, including Kansas.
Every girl who wishes to attend the program must meet these requirements: graduation from a residential treatment center, therapeutic wilderness program, therapeutic boarding school, or other similar treatment programs, has demonstrated readiness for this level of responsibility and freedom, is committed and stable relative to ongoing life and therapeutic goals, is and is committed to sobriety. If your child from Kansas meets these requirements, she can then undergo an admission interview and our professional team will assess if an independent living program is the best choice for your daughter. We work especially with depressive and anxiety disorders, body image issues, ADD/ADHD and other learning issues, academic struggles and low self-esteem.
Our program is based on five core principles: healthy living, education, life skills, personal responsibility and social integration. Every girl must decide, with the support of family and a professional team, goals within every principle. She will do a follow up interview at least every two weeks, and a couple of parents will be assigned to her as guidance.
Journey Home has plenty of alternative activities beyond just therapy, there’s outdoor hiking, fun food Friday, sports, going to movies and others. But our girls con decide even to get a job or go on with high school or college studies.
Our independent living program can help make your daughter become a successful and happy adult, more than capable of coping with society and internal issues.
