Most
plants native to California and the
western states are uniquely suited to our wet winters and dry
summers, some requiring no summer water at all. This makes
them ideal choices for the homeowner who wants to conserve
water and enjoy beautiful plants in their own backyard. They
are our ecological heritage in this area,
providing pollinators and other wildlife with food, nesting
material, and breeding sites.
The
following plant list includes many of the plants grown at the
Harvest Garden in our habitat and demonstration gardens. Most
